National Bike Week 2004  (dates: 12-20 June)  The first planning meeting for 2004 had been held on 20 Jan, and the Week would be similar to last year, except that it would start with the Bike Sale at St Johns instead of the stall and Dr Bike. We would not take part in the ride to Dorking with Mole Valley, but instead organise a Pedalling Picnic.

When the programme was ready, it would be sent out to all those interested. The next planning meeting would take place on 24 Feb at Karen’s

NCR 20 & 22    Following our meeting on 20 December to discuss these new routes, a response had been sent to David Curl, but nothing further received. It was suggested we ask SCC to also look at facilities, such as cycle racks, refreshments etc, and not just the routes.

Cycle Training   Jonathan had been successful in obtaining a free place on a
four day CTC Instructor Training Course in London in March. The project,
funded by the Department for Transport, will enable one hundred people to
receive CTC-accredited training between January and March 2004.
The Forum has been awarded the grant funding for training we applied for. He was looking for a venue in Reigate, and Reigate Priory was most suitable,
though possibly too expensive. He would investigate further
