BOAT 401 Appeal had been held on 5/6 August, with many members attending. Inspector’s decision was expected by end October

GH

d

Cycle Monitoring  12 suggested sites had been sent to Alan Fordham, and Karen had written expressing concern about apparent lack of progress and proposals not being followed up. AF replied explaining the procedure and the importance given to our views, but that no action was now possible until April next. Agreed to invite AF to next meeting to explain situation.

KH

e

Cycle Facilities Infrastructure Audit  Jonathon E was now abroad, so Karen would reclaim the paperwork so that some progress could be made

KH

3

Surrey Local Transport Plan   John Meudell had written on the subject. Agreed to ask AF for more info at the October meeting

KH

4

Priory Park Developments  David H had written, saying that conclusions had been reached, that a bid was to be made for a young children’s cycle circuit round the lake, and money for a feasibility study (only) for a “green travel route”, including cycle routes. The call for an adult’s cycle route was not supported by the Committee. Agreed to reply welcoming the positive comments regarding cycling, and hope that it could be taken forward, as the public was generally supportive

KH

5

CTC Membership costs   Cost was approx £76-80 p.a., and we have only paid up to October. The rest would be paid out of contributions at recent events and the Sunday rides. Regarding costs in general, agreed to approach local companies and other agencies for financial sponsorship.

JSO raised doubts about the future of the Sunday rides, given the lack of support on occasions from Forum members. It was pointed out that many other members had run these sessions, but it would be raised at the October Full Forum, seeking a commitment from members to act as leaders.
